Dear Friends,
What a beautiful summer it has been! The gardens are beautiful -- the roses on the deck have been gorgeous! Best of all the summer months have brought many of you to Stowe for a visit and you've included a stop at The Wooden Needle to replenish your projects . I am always so humbled to hear that many of you think of this as your LNS (local needlework shop). It's such fun for me to hear about your families and actually see some of "the kids" who are now 11 years older than when you first started to come to the shop! ... and how terrific that some of them are actually stitching now! Also, I am truly grateful for the countless special orders I have been receiving. The needlepoint designers make it very easy to order one canvas at a time and then I can offer stitch and thread suggestions. Most cross stitch charts can be ordered easily through Hoffman Distributors and I can kit them for you on your favorite linen or aida cloth. I'm getting a bit better at facebook and try to post new items there as well. Just let me know what you need! Here's a little help:

*New "VERMONT" canvases are now available and 2 have just arrived from the finisher:
So now Vermont will begin to prepare for its fall foliage dance. She will select the brightest colors for her ensemble and delight us with a glamorous show. As you travel through New England for leaf peeping I hope you will make Stowe, VT and The Wooden Needle one of your stops. If you can't visit in person, please call and I will be happy to help fill your stash! As always, I suggest that you call first before traveling any distance to be sure that the shop is open.
