June 2015
Dear Friends,
Well they don't call these the Green Mountains for nothin'!  Lush -- the color of DMC #986!  We've had plenty of rain the past several weeks here in Stowe.  The temperatures are wonderful for daytime hiking and terrific for evening stitching.  I've been doing more needlepoint again -- some great new Vermont pieces have arrived.  I couldn't resist the "LL Bean look alike" ornament bags with the brass maple leaf charms.  It's fun playing with some stitches on these.  What is your stitching project for the summer?  The shop is stocked with great new cross stitch charts as well.  The "prim stitching"charts are my favorite and I can't wait to get one started!  I look forward to seeing many of you in the next few months, but if you're not visiting Stowe, please email or call me if you need something.  I'm happy to chat and help.

*FINISHING deadline is rapidly approaching!  August 1 for everything.  As I said in my last newsletter -- 1 of my 2 finishers retired, but I have tried another with wonderful results.  She is very busy as are all the finishers.  If you want your cross stitch or needlepoint finished in time for Christmas, it absolutely must be at The Wooden Needle by August 1!

*The Wooden Needle will be closed July 11 thru July 20 (closing early about mid-day Friday July 10).

*A shipment of "sleds" has arrived for the cutest ornaments done with perforated paper.  Have you seen Lizzie*Kate's "sled dudes" chart?

*The list for the 2015 Prairie Schooler Santa is growing.  Do you want me to add your name?  I'll mail it to you when it arrives.  Also, let me know if you want to add fabric/threads.

*As many of you know, besides counted work and needlepoint, I am also an avid quilter.  A superb exhibit is featured this summer at the Shelburne Museum.  Judy Dales is a contemporary master -- and Vermonter!  If you are visiting Vermont this summer or live here, please make this exciting show a priority.

*Here's a terrific little read from Kreinik Manufacturing about their thread spools.  Many of you who use these metallic threads have asked me about these labels.

*Here is an image of the I love VT bag.  Hopefully the next newsletter will have the photo of the finished bag -- a great ornament which can even hold a gift card.

I Love Vermont

*summer hours:
Tuesday thru Friday  10:00 - 5:00
Saturday  10:00 - 4:00
Remember to always call ahead before traveling any distance to visit the shop.  At times my life is still a bit erratic due to parent care.  As always I sincerely appreciate your business loyalty.

So now my friends, I wish you all some peaceful days stitching away on your decks.  Enjoy a happy and healthy summer.
Xrossing in Friendship,
Kathy
