December 2011
Dear Friends,
Happy Winter!! Busy? Oh, yes, but enjoy every minute. It passes
all too quickly. I do, however, look forward to the quiet weeks
after the holidays as a time to get comfortable in my nest and
stitch. Usually I'm stitching models for the shop, but I've
actually allowed myself a little time the past month to do some
(dare I say) knitting! I've made a bag of cute hats to give away to
a shelter in the area. It feels so good to make something for
others that is practical and fun, too. Remember my philosophy --
we have enough stress in our lives so keep stitching fun!
I'll keep this newsletter short. Just wanted to take the time to
wish you all a beautiful and peaceful holiday season. This season
was given to us as a gift -- a time to be with those we love and
cherish the memories of those we hold in our hearts. Be kind to
yourself so that you will be kind to others. To all of you, thank
you! I sincerely appreciate your support of this tiny business. *Please note new shop hours for the winter months January
through March:
Tuesday - Saturday 10:00 - 4:00
*Christmas/New Years holiday hours:
closing 4:00 Fri, Dec. 23 through Mon. Dec. 26 -- will re-open 10:00
Tues. Dec. 27
closing 4:00 Sat. Dec. 31 though Mon. Jan. 2 -- will re-open 10:00
Tues. Jan. 3
*in memoriam ~ Although the death of someone is
always sad, we look at the life of the person and the treasures they
shared and celebrate their life. This week we mourn the passing of
the talented Erica Wilson. I don't think there is a woman who has
ever held some type of needle who has not heard of this great lady.
Ms. Wilson taught us through her classes, books, kits and shops. My
aunt taught me to knit when I was 7 years old, my Mom taught me to
use a sewing machine by the time I was 10, but my first threaded
needle project was an Erica Wilson crewel kit. I was self-taught,
that is by the diagrams and instructions in that kit. ... and the
rest is history! Thank you, Erica Wilson for sharing.

Best wishes for a blessed Christmas and healthy, happy new year!
Xrossing in Friendship,
Kathy
